Case Study: Using the Metaverse To Engage Tech Leaders Across Europe


About Google Cloud:

Challenge:

Unify marketing leaders across EMEA for their annual all hands meet up in an environment that feels more memorable and engaging than their usual Google Meet.


Solution:

Mixed Reality Rooms got to work building a bespoke "Sustainability Forest" environment to coincide with the theme of the event. Within it, were 12 self-guided interactions (screens) and a solo-scavenger hunt which rewarded the first member of the Google Cloud team who completed it first.

Earlier on in the event attendees were broken up into four teams whom they'd represent on event-wide quizzes. They also had full autonomy over their experience and were able to enjoy moving freely between the casual networking areas and light workshops which were taking part across the other four environments (Mars Base, Dinosaur Museum, Penthouse, and Yoga room). On three occasions the hosts were able to deliver fireside chats and keynote talks across all rooms through Mixed Reality Rooms' streaming functionality.


Results:

  • 97% of attendees voted the experience 'Excellent' or 'Very good'.
